It's been awhile ...

... since I stopped by and posted anything, so here I am. I know besides myself there maybe one other person who's reading this blog so this message is for you "DON'T YOU HAVE ANYTHING BETTER TO DO?" .... ok now to TAC business.

Millstone has now changed to "MAELSTROM" ... and I'm refocusing it a lil. I've bee hard at work writing a new comic called "The Forsaken" but I'm going to take a brake from it for awhile. It has been a blast working on but until I can find an artist for it, I think it's best to focus my energy elsewhere.

Also I'm writing and drawing another story titled "My Own Worst Enermy" ... it's a story of self descovery ... anyway I have to get back to work ... but I'll be back with pics nextweek!

The Dark Knight

Dear GoD! That was an awesome movie ... not a good, or even great one ... AWESOME!!! (yes in caps too) But the funny thing is ... it wasn't just a awesome comic movie, no it was just an awesome movie. You could remove all the costums and what you're left with is a really good (or may I say awesome) crime drama. To tell the truth batman had a bit part in his own movie. The focus was on developing the other characters and the plot point (which the did ... wonderfully). What more could be said about this movie that hasn't been said ... it was a treat to my eyes and I was entertained from beginning to end. By far the best movie of 2008.

War Inc ... the movie!!!

War Inc. is an awesome movie, which touches on the current war in Iraq. However it is not a straight forward commentary about the war but instead it highlights the misfortunes of the war (how this is really a war centered around commercialism, and what the soldiers are facing). I give it a 4 out of 5.

Baha-Man: National Defender

With the Bahamas independence only a day away (July 10th), I was feeling a bit patriotic so I thought I’d do a piece with BAHA-MAN: NATIONAL DEFENDER. My wife seems to think this character was a great idea, but I created him as a huge joke. However, he turned out better than I thought so I’m thinking of doing a weekly web-comic with him but who knows. Let me know what you think.

I wanted to post this when the movie came out but I've been so busy trying to get this comic together that I wasn't able to ... anyway here it is JonBoy "hulking" out!!

It's been a long time!!!

I know it seems like forever but I'm back!! Ok so I know beside myself and my wife no one reads this but so what ... I can imagine can't I? Anyway, I've finished the first scripts for a new story (The Forsaken), and it's off to the artist. I'm really pupped about it. I have nothing to show, but as soon as I get some art you'll see it ... anyway i have to get back to work (I have to pay the bills somehow) ...

I-Mate PDAL

Ok so this is niether Tac related ot comic related, but I just bought me a new cell phone (well the say pocket PC) and must say I'm loving it! Ok so it's only been a few days and there isn't much of a learning curve (well I didn't attempt to read the manual ... it's too big); I give it a 4 out of 5 (that's cuz it works best with a headset, cuz the sound quality isn't the best ... it's hard to hear on it). Ok, now to comic news ... I'm hard at work on "Operation Maddness" and also finishing up two other projects. I found an artist who'll be helping me get all these projects together and as soon as I get art you'll see it (the one other persone besides myself who reads this blog). Oh, and yesterday was a good day for comics ... Marvel and DC both had good turn outs ... so did Image ... anyway I have to get back to work .... lata

Secret Invation

Ok, issue no.2 just came out and I must say ... it's not the greatest comic ever, but I am injoying it. I'm starting to see real merit in the story over all ... and by the end it could be a really good summer event. As soon at I get the issue of New Avengers I'll have more to say.

Ironman: The movie

Freakin' awesome!!! what more can I say, it was one of the best if not the best comic to movie EVER!!! Now I'm not taking anything away from either Spider-Man or Batman Begins. A second Ironman movie has already greenlite so I can't wait to see what they do next. I'm hoping it's his fall from grace (no villians with magic rings please). Also stay till the end of the movie ... there is a real surprice!!! Trust me you'll love it (a.k.a. Sam Jackson)!

Brass Monkey ... not Iron Monkey

So by now we all know there's a new Ironman movie that is smashing it's way into the movies today and from what I've seen so far I can't wait. I'm going to take the wife with me this evening so she can get a feel of what it's like to watch a comic book movie with me. She's not big on "funny books" and whenever I start talking comics with my friends she just rolls her eyes and leaves the room. To her it's still a kid thing, but she does feel I should develop some of my ideas ... Anyway I'm about to watch the Naruto movie (I'm a huge fan) and try and get some dawings together ... so until then .....

Retool, retool, RETOOL

God, things have been a man house around here! Work, home, and comics ... who would have thought that life could get so crazy ... were have the simpler days gone; where all I did was look forward to Weds. Anyway I'm retool my life and trying to get things into order, so that means TAC is taking a back seat. But that's not to way I wont be working on stuff. I'm retooling character sketchs for 'Capital Punishment' and also retool a short story I did with them. I'm also thinking of putting 'Millstone' on the back burner for the 'foreseeable' future ... that's just so I can get a few other projects out and focus better on 'Millstone'.

I'm 'a head' of the rest

oh so I made a bad joke ... ok it was a really bad joke but come one it was catchy! Anyway I've given the whole TAC thing some thought and I'm going to re-tool all my characters, so that means sketches! Here's Talia, she's the bad girl of "Capital Punishment". I'm trying to give her a new look, cuz her old one needing work. This'll be version 3 or 4 I'm not too sure. I'm thinking 4 because I found too old pics with her and one of the was BAD!!!! Man I thought that pic was so good back then, but now when I look at it I simply want to cry ... anyway the one I did of her after that was much better ... so I'll stick with thinking this is version 4 (I'll post the better of the earlier versions here) ... anyway I have alot of work to do so I'm out ..... oh and I'm still working on 'Millstone', I'll have some news about that too lata.

Tac ... no more!!

It seems that my main T. A. Comix site is down, and to tell you the truth it is a sign of the times ... it would seem that someone it trying to tell me something, the dream is dead ... or that it's time for a change ... I'm thinking change, so I'm taking some time to rethink the whole TAC idea and how best to do it. That means I'm changing some projects and some will be on the back burned for awhile ... anyway I'll keep you'll posted.

Back in Black

Once again here's another pic that has nothing to do with "Millstone"! This is the bad boy of T. A. Comix 'Foulmouth' and this is version 3.0 of the character. He's my inner demon, the part of myself that never sees the light of day ... only in print. I'm working on an other "FM" project (I did a mini back in 2001, and 2002) and this time I'm grabbing the bull by the balls and going all out. So along with "Millstone" I'm also do a 'Foulmouth' comic ... but he'll be teamed with yours truly ... JonBoy (that's my creative side) in "Random Access".

Legacy

Ok ... my time away hasn't been wasted reading manga and cuddling with my wife, no I've been hard at work on "Millstone". Issue 1 has been plotted and entitled "Legacy". I'm hoping to have character sketches finished this weekend so I can post them and also the first draft of issue one completed.

Issue No.1 synopsis issue: All Ashley Mills wanted was to take a quite desk job on one of the Commonwealth’s outer islands. However, what she got in return was an inspectors post on Stone Cay; one of the smallest yet most corrupted islands in the Commonwealth. On top of that, one of the most popular ministers of the Cay was just killed and it seems he may have had a few skeletons in his closet.

The story ... so far

Well it's been a few days but here's an up-date, "Millstones". The lead character will be Detective Ashley Mills. The story will focus on her moving to one of the out laying islands in the Bahamas. So she’ll be dealing with not only the mindset of ‘out islanders’ but also social issues that are ramped on the smaller islands. The Bahamas is unlike any other place, because it’s not just a melting pot of cultures but corruption too. I’m still working out some of the back story but at the moment “Millstone” will be a four issue mini. Depending on that, I’ll try and make it a monthly book. I’m in the process of retooling some of the characters, but I’m hoping to have sketches together this week and the first issue plotted by the weekend. Anyway I’m out (I have to get back to work).

This is the working title to one of my next project and the reason behind this blog. I've spent too much time wishing and now it's time to act. So now that I have a working title and a small list of characters to work with, it's time to work out the story beats and format. Now I'm thinking 'Millstone' could be a really good one shot or one mini; but it all depends on how stone my plot points are. You may be wondering what 'Millstone' is about, well it's a detective story based in the islands. However, unlike many of the other detective stories out there none of the touch on what I'm thinking of. The idea came to me after I had a talk with a young lady at church and it opened my sees to how sheltered my life has been. It's something that has been affecting my little island for years and I want to shed some light on it. Anyway my other inspiration is 'Warren Ellis'. I've been listen to a few pod-cast (iFanboy for one) and they kept talking about this book called 'FELL' so I thought I'd check it out ... it's GOLD baby!! I loved it. Now this isn't the first time I've seen his work. I thought he was a genius when I read his Wolverine story 'Not Dead Yet' and I loved 'Planetary'. But a lot of his other work was hit or miss with me, well that is until I read 'Down', Reloaded', and 'Red' (which I just read this year) ... oh and I loved 'Nextwave'. Anyway it's because of him and 'FELL' that I thought a detective story was the way to go.

Getting started...

Man I've wanted to start my own blog for sometime, but like many people I realized ... I had nothing to say!! Yet here I am blogging my lil heart out. Well I thought a blogg would be a good was for me to attempt to get me focused and working. I've been playing around with the idea of doing comics for a few years now and I'm sick of just thinking now! So I'm using this blog to het my ideas together and put at least two comic projects together.
